  1. Twenty-four years of being a Giving Tree left me empty with no identity except wife and mother. I had to leave my world, risking alienation and rage in order to find Me. I was a shell of a woman, functioning in a body with no soul. I spent the winter of 2011 hunkered down in MY apartment in MY silence, finding and growing ME. What a wonderful gift I gave to myself.
